Enterprise SIP Trunk Service Overview

SIP Trunk Features

What is SIP Trunking?

A SIP trunk is the virtual version of an analog phone line. Using SIP trunks, a SIP provider can connect one, two, or twenty channels to your PBX, allowing you to make local, long distance, and international calls over the Internet. If you have an on-premises PBX in your office, a SIP trunk provider can connect to you and allow you to make outbound calls on your existing system, without restrictions on the number of concurrent calls.

How do SIP Trunks Work?

This is a protocol that establishes a VoIP session on the Internet – the session can be a simple voice calls between two participants, conference calling between multiple individuals including handling calls for mobile devices or anything in between. SIP trunking works exactly like the enterprise T1 or PRI lines on the PSTN that connected businesses with the telco office. Instead of routing voice calls over copper lines and dedicated circuit-switched networks, SIP trunking involves sending voice calls over data networks such as the Internet or enterprise LAN.

Why do Businesses Choose AVAD?

While there are many advantages to the VoIP SIP trunk approach, the primary drivers are cost and flexibility. SIP trunking eliminates the need for PRI lines and the associated cost. Unlike PRI lines, which contain 23 channels, SIP trunks can be purchased in increments as low as one channel, or one concurrent call. This gives businesses the ability to purchase and pay for only what they need and to easily scale as capacity requirements change.

Simple Pricing

Paying for your SIP VoIP trunk is as easy as setting it up. Our service has a prepaid component of $24.95/month and no contract required. Add or remove channels anytime.

Our SIP Trunking service is a perfect fit for open source systems such as Asterisk, FreeSwitch, PBX in a Box and most Asterisk based systems.

AVAD uses only Tier-1 upstream providers to route traffic for our customers. This means that our clients get the best quality voice along with a redundant platform that ensures performance and reliability.

AVAD’s SIP Trunks provide the ability to route inbound DID’s to a primary and a secondary IP-PBX. This allows you to run dual PBX’s for redundancy.  You can also forward calls to a backup number in the event of a failure.

AVAD gives you the flexibility to choose your own broadband Internet connection. Unlike some SIP trunking providers, we do not require that you get data connectivity through us. Choose from cable, DSL, T-1 or Metro Ethernet, whichever works best for you.

Our systems are monitored in real-time for International call fraud and take immediate action to kill unauthorized calls in progress, shut off International calling on your trunk.
