The Telecommunications industry watchdog ComReg has warned there has been a rise in the number of PBX fraud incidents. Criminal hackers have been able to break into the telephone systems of unsuspecting companies and generate enormous bills by reselling these minutes to ussuspecting consumers.

The International Forum of International Irregular Network Access (FIINA) estimates that telecoms fraud is costing companies $42 billion a year and is estimated to grow at 15 percent a year.
